
Mokokchung/Zunheboto, January 24 (MExN): A day after protests were held in Dimapur and Kohima, the BJP Aonglenden Assembly Constituency (AC) Mokokchung and Zunheboto mandals also joined the bandwagon by staging protest against party’s 20/40 seat-sharing deal with the NDPP.
In Mokokchung, the BJP 26 Aonglenden Mandal held a protest outside the party’s district office. The protestor reportedly demanded a ticket for ex-MLA Toshipokba Longkumer from 26 Aonglenden AC for the upcoming assembly elections slated on February 27, claiming that the constituency has the highest enrolment amongst the BJP mandals in the District.
Meanwhile, the BJP Zunheboto mandal also went for a peaceful protest today from the centre point of town against the seat sharing deal. During the same, mandal officials claimed that the BJP has a huge number of supporters in the 35
Zunheboto AC and demanded that one should be given to Ghovishe Kiba, the intending BJP candidate from the constituency, informed a press release. The president of the Zunheboto mandal also said that he hopes for a free and fair election and an official letter has already been sent to the BJP National level, it said. If seat sharing issue is not resolved than all the party karyakartas will resign from their respective posts, he reportedly added.
