The Sedekevi Peli (No.17) of Kohima village today organised a penalty shootout tournament at D Khel Ground, Kohima. The tournament was organised in aid of Sedekevi Peli “Silver Jubilee 2025.”
Gracing the inaugural ceremony as the special guest, Mhasimhalie Mathew Yhome, president, Kohima District Football Association (KDFA), appreciated Sedekevi Peli for organizing such tournament to facilitate healthy lifestyle among the youth.
He challenged the players to uphold the principles of sportsmanship to carve out a niche at the local and global stage. One should not consider anything as “Timepass” be it game or anything, he said and urged the players to take sports seriously.
Self discipline is the key to success in any field, he said and at the same time told the players to be sincere and dedicated in their approach.
Further, Yhome urged upon the players to choose the right sports discipline for successful journey in the field.
Menuosetuo Yiese, president, Sedekevi Peli informed that its Peli was formed in the year 2000.
Presently, it has 55 members. The programme was chaired by Rüguongulie Sachü while vote of thanks was proposed by Kelhousekuo Khezhie. 21 teams joined the tournament.
