Attendees of a two-day seminar on “Naga Society: Issues, Challenges, and Prospects” held at Sazolie College, Jotsoma from May 23-25.

Kohima, May 26 (MExN): A two-day MA History Departmental Seminar on the theme, “Naga Society: Issues, Challenges, and Prospects,” took place from May 23-25 at Sazolie College, Jotsoma.
The seminar convened faculties and students to engage in discussions and deliberations on various aspects of the theme.
Addressing the seminar as the guest of honour, Dr Gopal Chettri, the college principal, shared insights into the methodology of academic research and encouraged students to undertake research work.
Robin Temsu, Head of Department, History Department (MA), delivered a keynote address presenting a comprehensive overview of the issues, challenges, and prospects faced by Naga society. He emphasised the necessity of a multidisciplinary approach to tackle the complexities of Naga society.
In total, 27 students from the MA 4th Semester, Department of History, presented papers on diverse topics such as “Naga Customary Laws vis-a-vis Modern Legal Laws,” “Multiple Taxation and Naga Society,” and “Women Reservation in Nagaland.”
The paper presentations were followed by discussions and debates, informed a press release from the college.
