Seminar on Community Reserve held in Kohima

Dimapur, May 26 (MExN): A ‘Seminar on Community Reserve’ was conducted by the Wildlife Division, Department of Environment, Forests & Climate Change at the Blyths Tragopan Conservation & Breeding Centre, Kohima on May 25.  

Dr Keneilhoutuolie Miachieo, IFS, CF STC, the resource person spoke on the theme of the seminar and stressed on the importance and responsibility of preservation of nature.  

He also lauded the four villages for their selfless and generous approach of preserving their community forest for the future generation.  

The head of the four Community Reserve villages - namely D.Khel Kohima, Mezoma, Kigwema and Dihoma – also highlighted the works carried out on their community reserve.  

Chairing the seminar, the Wildlife Warden, K.Caroline Angami, IFS, Wildlife Warden also elucidated about community reserve to the locals.  

A short quiz competition was organized for the students who also attended the seminar.  

The seminar stated with a welcome speech by Keneikrul, Officer in charge of Puliebadze Wildlife Sanctuary and concluded with a vote of thanks by Kiukhenshi Forester-1, BTCBC.
