Chümoukedima, November 24 (MExN): The North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research (NEISSR), Chümoukedima management in collaboration with S.C.S.C organised a seminar on ‘Business Analytics’ at the cultural hall, NEISSR on November 23. 

Mallika Sankar, Assistant Professor, MBA Department at Christ University, Bangalore shared insights into data collection methodologies, stated a press release issued by NEISSR. She highlighted that 53% of the Indian population relies on WhatsApp for communication, underscoring the significance of Data Analysis and Credit Reports in decision-making processes for loans.

The session clarified that data analysis, a study of statistical methods for deriving insights, is applicable across various fields, offering a promising career when combined with domain expertise, it stated.

Bharath Suresh, Assistant Professor, Department of Media Studies at Christ University, discussed effective communication strategies for MSW professionals. He emphasised the importance of both verbal and non-verbal communication, distinguishing between formal and casual modes, and cautioned against the use of inappropriate language. Suresh stressed the significance of inclusive body language and the avoidance of cultural insensitivity within a group.

Dr Dulari SS, Assistant Professor, MBA Department at the School of Technology and Management Coaching, and the third speaker, delved into leadership skills. She initiated an interactive session, encouraging students to envision themselves in 10 years. Dr Dulari outlined three crucial leadership skills: administrative, interpersonal, and conceptual. Administrative skills involve understanding and managing associates, effective resource management, and adaptability. Interpersonal skills encompass emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, negotiation, and dialogue. Conceptual skills include foresight, pro-activity, decision-making, strategic planning, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

The seminar concluded with a group activity focused on desert survival, centered around the demonstrated leadership skills. 
NEISSR, in partnership with Christ University, will evaluate the flagship scheme of PMMY in Nagaland and Manipur, it added.
