The three day long 11th Kohima Open Volleyball Tournament 2024 (Men & Women) under the aegis of Kohima District Volleyball Association (KDVA) concluded today at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima under the theme “Transcending through Sports.”

Senapati Sporting Club from Manipur won the champion title under Men’s Category and received a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh.

Senapati Sporting Club lifted the champion title after defeating Kiruphema Youth Organisation-B in the final with the winning match point of 25-23, 25-21, 25-18.

Runner-up Kiruphema Youth Organisation-B has been awarded with a cash prize of Rs 50,000.

Losing semi finalists Blind Spikers Akuluto VK and Japfü Range Volleyball Club received Rs 15,000 each.

Senapati Sporting Club clinched the champion title under Women’s Category and pocketed a cash prize of Rs 60,000.

Men’s 1st Semi final Match patron Neidilhoutuo (Neibu) Sechü with KVDA officials and players on November 1 in Kohima.

In final, Senapati Sporting Club defeated MADFA Club Dimapur with the winning match point of 25-21, 25-19, 25-14.

Runner-up MADFA Club Dimapur received Rs 30,000.

Meanwhile, the individual winners for best setter and best spiker in both Men’s and Women’s category received Rs. 5000 each.

Roko Angami, OSD (Sports), Department of Youth Resources & Sports, Government of Nagaland and former international football player graced the closing ceremony as the guest of honour and handed over prize to the winners.

Earlier, Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) councillor from Daklane, Kazheli Tungoe, graced the women’s final match as the match patron.

Neidilhoutuo (Neibu) Sechü, General Secretary, Angami Youth Organization & Vice President Nagaland Wushu Association graced the first semi finals (Men) as the match patron.

Vimhalie Pienyü, KMC Councillor, Kitsubozou was the match patron for 2nd Semi finals (Men).

Altogether, 12 Men teams and 5 Women teams vied for the tournament.

The tournament, which commenced on October 30, was graced by Kethosituo Sekhose, Director, Youth Resources & Sports, Government of Nagaland as the special guest.
