Senior BJP member Medom Angami laid to rest

Dimapur, May 12 (MExN): The funeral service of K Medom Angami, a senior BJP member, was held at Supply Colony, Dimapur on May 12. He passed away on May 11 at Zion Hospital, Dimapur after a brief illness.  

A press release from BJP Nagaland Media Cell stated that with his demise a vacuum has been created in the party organisational setup. He had served the party for the last 18 years in various capacities: Dimapur District President from 2000-2003, Kisan State President from 2003-2006, State Executive Member from 2006-2009, State Vice President from 2009-2012, National Executive Member from 2012-2015, State BJP Core Committee Member from 2015 till date, BJP Office Construction Committee Convenor from 2014 till now, BJP Disciplinary Action Committee (DAC) Convener from 2016 up to date.  

Speaking at the funeral service on behalf of the BJP Nagaland, senior BJP member K James Vizo said Medom was a man of principle and a “diehard loyalist” of the party. He had the spirit of fighting with truthfulness and was a man who believed in the constitution of the party, Vizo added. Stating that the deceased was a political guru and motivator to many party members, he added, the Nagaland BJP will always remember his contributions to the party in the last 18 years.  

Another senior BJP member Yambos Murry also spoke on behalf of the party. Host of party officials and workers besides Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton attended the funeral service, the release informed.
