The monthly District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held on May 14 in the DC Conference Hall, Zunheboto. The meeting was chaired by S. Toiho Yeptho, Deputy Speaker, Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) and newly elected Chairman of the DPDB, along with Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto Dharam Raj, IAS, who serves as the Vice Chairman.

In his address, S. Toiho Yeptho urged members to "leave behind a legacy that inspires others to create a positive and lasting impact in the community." He called for full cooperation and support from all members to work collectively for the development of Zunheboto district. Expressing disappointment, he pointed out that even after 51 years, the DC’s Conference Hall still lacks basic infrastructure like microphones and a projector.

He emphasized the need for progress and urged everyone to start afresh with renewed commitment, stating, “We have a long way to go. He also questioned the dedication of certain officials, HoDs who prefer staying in Dimapur and Kohima, asking, “How are you going to serve your people if you are not present in your own district?”

Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto Dharam Raj reiterated that Zunheboto is in the heart of Nagaland and deserves equal access to all forms of development available in the state. He expressed confidence that Zunheboto will become one of the most developed districts in the coming years.

The board also deliberated on the registration of Ahupe Foundation Society and Jordan Heights Society, approving them for further procedures. Additionally, the proposal to name the two-lane road from Sedzü/Yeti River to Zunheboto town as Chakhesang–Sumi Brotherhood Road was thoroughly discussed and approved for further action.

Earlier in the day, the board welcomed the newly inducted Chairman and Deputy Commissioner with a short welcome ceremony. The meeting also featured PowerPoint presentations by the Department of Fisheries and the Department of Food & Civil Supplies.
