SETAM organizes investor awareness prog

Dimapur: Nagaland University - School of management studies (SETAM), Dimapur conducted a seminar entitled ‘Investor Awareness Program’ on March 21 at Lotha community hall here under the initiative of BSE investors’ protection fund with Prashant and Mark of Bombay Stock Exchange, Mumbai as resource persons.

As Bombay Stock Exchange Limited is the oldest stock exchange in Asia popularly known as BSE, the exchange’s pivotal and pre-eminent role in the development of the capital market is widely recognized and its index, SENSEX, tracked worldwide, stated a press release received here.

The resource persons also highlighted on not only efficient market, but also to uphold the interest of the investors and ensure redressal of grievances whether against the company or its trading member initiated by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).

Meanwhile, the resource persons added that, to receive all benefits/ material information declared for the investor by the company, equity holders have a right to subscribe to further issue of Capital by the company and always deal with the intermediaries registered with SEBI/stock exchanges while being cautious about stocks which show a sudden spurt in price or trading activity, especially low price stocks.

The program was chaired by Dhrubajyoti Bordoloi, invocation by Akum Phom, short speech from D.P Chaturvedi and benediction by Amenla Walling. Students of School of management and Unity College attended the seminar.
