Seyie Gas Service responds to NVCO

Kohima, December 20 (MExN): M/s Seyie Gas Service located in Kohima has responded to the recent statement of Nagaland Voluntary Consumers’ Organization (NVCO) published on December 19 under the headline ‘Honour the rights of consumers: NVCO to service providers.’

In the statement, NVCO had said it visited an LPG counter in Kohima Town to ascertain how the consumers were being treated in the early morning of December 18. It observed that consumers, mostly mothers, were in the queue for LPG refills since 3:00 am. NVCO further wondered if it was due to LPG shortage or black-marketing.

A rejoinder from the Manger of M/s Seyie Gas Service while expressing sincere appreciation for the care and concern of NVCO towards it customers however stated “certain established facts need to be clarified in this connection so as to avoid unnecessary misunderstanding, misinformation, and confusion among the customers or the public.”

On December 18, it said, many of its consumers turned up to collect their LPG refills, prior to maturity of their bookings as they wished to collect refills in advance, and then proceed to their respective villages for Christmas and New Year celebration.

“As such, we cancelled colony deliveries after observing the exceptionally long queue consisting of 302 customers. We decided to go extra mile in their support and issued LPG refills to all our customers, irrespective of ‘booking maturity or without’. No one was denied, considering the festive season and they were happy and satisfied for such extraordinary action,” the Gas Service stated.

“Therefore, the question of dishonoring the consumers’ rights, LPG shortage, or black-marketing does not arise,” it asserted. “The divine call of duty in business is to deliver the right goods at right price with full quantity at the right time to the right person, and we are trying to do that with sincere conviction and integrity.”

Regarding the claim that some were queuing up by 3:00 am, the rejoinder said, if it is true “it is a gross violation of our directive approved by the district administration. As such, had it come to our knowledge we would have taken action against such person.”
