Envisioned under the esteemed umbrella of the Culture Connects Global programme in India, the British Council orchestrated a meticulously planned cultural exchange music tour in London & Wales, slated to take place in June 2025.

This significant initiative features the artist Seyievinuo Chuzho from Nagaland and the Welsh artist Mari Mathias, with crucial backing from High Commission of India and the Government of Nagaland supported by British Council.

Renowned for her multifaceted talents as a singer, songwriter, influencer, and writer, Chuzho currently dedicates her academic pursuits to a Ph.D. as a research scholar within the esteemed Department of History and Archaeology at Nagaland University, bringing a wealth of cultural richness and experience to the collaboration.

This robust partnership is a direct outgrowth of the profound cultural interconnectedness fostered through the participation of these artists in pivotal events such as the Welsh Government’s ‘Year of Wales in India’ and the dynamic 25th Hornbill festival in December 2024, a testament to the active support provided by the Government of Nagaland.

The overarching objective of this carefully curated music tour is to engage in a harmonious collaboration, endeavoring to craft resonant melodies that deepen the cultural bonds between India and Wales. They are set to perform at the prestigious events including the Bluestone Brewery, the Nerhu Centre London and the illustrious Tafwyl Festival in London, Cardiff and West Wales, UK.
