Sheds at Industrial Estate Old Complex burnt down

“Ex-underground khellers” suspected

Dimapur, November 24 (MExN): Following threats from ex-underground khellers, two sheds at the Industrial Estate Old Complex in Dimapur were finally burnt down at around 1am on November 24.  In a letter to the Managing Director of the Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation (NIDC), the Secretary of the Industrial Estate Tenant Association (IETA) said that security had been sought from the NIDC on several occasions after “ex-underground khellers” threatened the tenants to vacate the land, or have their units burnt down, but no steps have been taken. This, the IETA alleged, has led to the burning down of sheds 1 and 2 at the Estate.

The Association has, once again, urged the NIDC to “take the matter seriously and provide security from your end and arrest the culprits at the earliest”. In October, the Association had stated that the tenants of the Industrial Estate Complex had been threatened by 25-30 “ex-underground kheller’s youth” to vacate the land and building, otherwise the structures will be burnt down and tenants harmed.
