As part of the ongoing Shehri Samridhi Utsav under the theme ‘Eat Safe, Eat Healthy and Eat Fortified,’ a Street Food Mela took place at old MLA Hostel Junction here today under the aegis of District Urban Development Agency, Kohima under SUDA.
Several SHGs and individuals joined the mela by selling and displaying different types of food products.
Shehri Samridhi Utsav (Street Food festival and job mela) construed as ‘Urban Prosperity Festival’ was launched in Nagaland on February 1 along with the rest of the country under the aegis of State Urban Development Agency (SUDA) Urban Development Department Nagaland in collaboration with Food Safety, Nagaland under Health & Family Welfare and Kohima Municipal Council.
Being held under the aegis of Ministry of Housing and City Affairs, the festival will target on city livelihoods and extending outreach of National City Livelihoods Mission (Day-NULM) to the poorest of the inadequate and the most susceptible, and aid obtain of SHG members to the other governing administration techniques.
This food mela at MLA hostel junction will go on till February 7 from 9:00 am onwards.
Similar mela will take place at PHQ junction on February 8 and 9, Dimapur: February 11, Mokokchung: February 12, Mon and Wokha: February 13, Tuensang: February 14 and Zunheboto & Phek: February 15.
