Kohima, October 24 (MExN): Smile Train, Shija Cleft Project – Mission Nagaland concluded its 31st phase at Oking Hospital and Research Clinic, Kohima under the theme ‘Towards rendering new smile, new hope, new life...’
Altogether, 15 children with cleft underwent operation between October 13 and 15 free of cost, informed a press release from Dr. Vikethonyu Kesiezie, Managing Director, Oking Hospital and Research Clinic.
Apart from the free operation, the families were also given an amount of Rs. 500 each to cover their travelling expenses, it said.
It was informed that more than 700 children with cleft from Nagaland have been operated till date under the mission; however, more than 2000 children are estimated to be unrepaired yet.
The next phase is scheduled to be held in the month of November 2017. The press release requested all to help the people with cleft lips/palate live a new life by disseminating the information.
