The Shofar Music Academy, Dimapur celebrated its first anniversary with Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, Kevekha Kevin Zehol, as the special guest.
Music being termed as a “strength and power” to connect any individual cutting across tribes, castes and religions, opening the programme saw a rendition titled “San Francisco Blues” by Sentimenla and Ovungro while Jentisen and Sungtiben crooned “Tomorrow” that was well received by those invitees present.
The children choir stole the limelight of the evening with their performance. Addressing the gathering as the special guest, the Deputy Commissioner said he was happy to see the “package and talents” of the Naga musicians and added that music is a language that connects people.
Various artistes including Bendang, Lothungbeni, Kalino, and Thunglamo also performed in the programme.
Meanwhile, a special prayer was pronounced by Pastor, St. John Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, Toshi Imsong.
