Show-cause notice served to 132 schools, three colleges in Nagaland

Kohima, August 5 (MExN): The Directorate of School Education (DoSE), Nagaland on Thursday issued a show cause notice to 135 educational institutes in Nagaland for failure to comply with the directives to submit weekly COVID-19 vaccination status of teaching and non-teaching staff. 

Shanavas, IAS Principal Director, DoSE in the notice issued to the heads of institutions of schools/colleges stated that all schools functioning within the State of Nagaland were directed to submit weekly COVID-19 vaccination status of teaching and non-teaching staff at the Department’s online portal https://school.dosenl.in, commencing from July 27, 2021 vide notification dated July 23, 2021. The extract of the notification was also published in all local news papers on July 24, 2021.

“The defaulter schools were reminded to submit the data without fail vide notification Dated July 30, 2021, which was circulated through the respective DEOs/Sr SDEOs/SDEOs. It is observed that you have failed to comply with the directives issued vide the aforesaid notifications,” he said.  

The Principal Director said that the act of non-compliance of the directives issued amounts to violation of sub-rule 1(f) of Rule 10 of the Nagaland Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Rules, 2010. 

“Now therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred on the undersigned under Rule 11 of the Nagaland Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Rules, 2010, you are hereby directed to explain within 30 days of issuing of this notice as to why action should not be taken against your school for violation of the rule,” he stated.

“Take note that failure to comply this directive will lead to initiation of appropriate action against your school without issuing further notice,” he cautioned further. 

According to the copy of the show-cause notice, it was served to 34 institutes in Dimapur; 15 in Kohima; 8 in Longleng; 18 in Mokokchung; 13 in Mon; 10 in Peren; 14 in Phek; 8 in Tuensang; 12 in Wokha; and 3 in Zunheboto.
