Kohima: Higher and Technical Education minister Shürhozelie Lizietsu, while taking note of the news item which appeared in a local daily under the caption “Congress Delegation in Delhi over PMS” has sought to express his appreciation towards the effort of the Nagaland Congress “if at all they had really told the Minister for release of PMS money.”
Reacting to the Congress allegation that the DAN government did not take them into confidence in matters relating to release of scholarship, Shürhozelie has said that the Government of Nagaland had discussed the issue elaborately with all who had shown concern and they had finally agreed to rescue the situation even out of the way by paying the balance amount of Rs 11,52,72,991 from the State’s coffer which is to be reimbursed later on.
On the Opposition leader’s allegation that he was misleading the House by saying that Scholarship would be paid on August, 2005, the Minister has stated, “I was talking about the first installment which the GoI has already released.
“We were talking about the balance amount to be released by the Tribal Ministry because our students also wanted one time payment. I did not mislead the House.”
