Shutter down till 12 noon on Aug 3; CNCCI says ‘conduct business as usual’

Dimapur, August 2 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) Union Territory has informed all commercial agencies within Dimapur district to keep their shutter down on August 3 till 12:00 noon “as a mark of respect and honor of Naga Historic Day marking the 6th Anniversary of the Framework Agreement.

The information was issued by secretary, Akukha T Yepthomi as directed by the Caretaker CAO UT. All concerned are asked to comply with this notice to observe and show solidarity as a mark of respect. It also thanked the Government of India for recognizing the identity and rights of the Nagas by signing the Framework Agreement on August 3, 2015.

Meanwhile, the Confederation of Nagaland Chamber of Commerce & Industries (CNCCI) has issued another contradicting directive to all the presidents of District Chamber of Commerce and Industries “to conduct business as usual on August 3.”
In a letter addressed to the District Chamber of Commerce and Industries, the CNCCI Vice Chairman, S Abenthung Ngullie and General Secretary, Dr Seyievilie stated that there has been confusion of business establishment closure on August 3.

“However, the office of CNCCI has not received any such letter or intimation or request for whole Nagaland business establishment closure from any corner. Therefore, there should be no confusion but carry out the business as usual on August 3 in your district,” it clarified. Moreover, as per the consultation with District Chamber of Commerce and Industry (confederate) there has been consensus that there should be business as usual on August 3, it stated.

“Therefore, your district chamber is directed not to be confused but conduct business as usual,” the CNCCI added.
