In the evening of January 6, Miss. Donching Yangmai beauty pageant was held under the theme “Journey Beyond Beauty.” Alem Bin, Special Transport Officer, Kohima, attended the programme as the special guest.
Contestant number 11, Sibong Lemla, was crowned Donching Yangmai 2026, while contestant number 10, Achila B Chang, was named first runners-up. Senti Chila, contestant number 6, secured the second runners-up position and was also adjudged Miss Talented.
Other subtitle winners included contestant number 3, Chaang Sonla, as Miss Photogenic; contestant number 5, Nasenmonyu, as Miss Best Ramp Walk; and contestant number 8, Betinaro, as Miss Congeniality.
The pageant was judged by Mütten Hangba E Chang, Sometnaro S, and B Yemlongchaba Chang. Sonyasonla served as the choreographer, while C. Noksen Ngakhu was the makeup artist for the event. The artist for the event were Yemkong Somba and Napam Chang (Saxophone).
On January 7, the concluding day morning of the triennial session featured a literary event, engaging students in a range of academic and creative competitions. The events included spelling bee, quiz, extempore speech, prepared speech, youth parliament, essay writing, multiple choice questions, painting, photography, creative group presentation, and poetry writing.
The literary activities marked the culmination of the triennial session, reinforcing the union’s emphasis on intellectual development, creative expression and holistic student engagement.
