Silent on DAB oil fields

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 13 (MExN): The MoS was further queried on the status of the Assam state government allowing the operation of oil fields in the Disputed Area Belt (DAB) with Nagaland. He was asked if his Ministry has taken any measures to address the matter to which he responded that he cannot say anything, while stating that he can comment as and when he gets the necessary information.

Recently, on July 19, Teli told Parliament that the ONGC was operating 8 oil fields in the DAB between Assam and Nagaland, which brought into question the Assam state government’s commitment to resolving the long standing boundary dispute, being arbitrated by the Supreme Court since 1988. He gave the information in reply to a query posed by Nagaland MP, Tokheho Yepthomi.
