Dimapur, February 13 (MExN): Lt. Col. Nitoi Sumi of S Singnya led NNC/FGN passed away at NEIGHRIMS, Shillong after a brief illness on February 10. He was the Dimapur Town Commander, Naga Army since 2015 until his death. A condolence message from Ministry of Rali Wali Affairs (MIP), NNC/FGN stated that the death of Nitoi Sumi has brought an “enormous loss” to the NNC/FGN and the Naga people in general.
“During his long years of service and sacrifice for the rights of the Naga people from Indian dominion, he (Nitoi) served the government with utmost sincerity, discipline and loyalty... His dedication and service towards the Naga people was exemplary to all,” the condolence message read.
The FGN extended national salute and heartfelt condolences to the departed soul and also shared the grief with the bereaved family.
