Sivasagar ADM reinforces night curfew in area bordering Nagaland

Kohima, February 24 (MExN): The Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Sivasagar, Assam has reinforced night curfew from 6PM-6AM in the 5 km belt in Assam side of Sivasagar district bordering Nagaland with effect from January 17 for 60 days. As per the State DIPR, the ADM in an order said night curfew has been imposed as a precautionary measure to prevent the occurrence of “anti-social elements/extremist/unlawful activities coming across the Assam/Nagaland border in the belt of Sivasagar district.” Movement of any person or group of persons or any vehicular traffic is prohibited during the period of night curfew, it said.  However, Magistrate, Security personnel of Army/CRPF/Police, and Civil Officials deployed on duty have been exempted from the purview of the prohibitory order, it added.
