
Dimapur, July 13 (MExN): 6 vehicle lifters have been arrested in Dimapur in the last one week, according to the Dimapur Police. In the first of the arrests, the Anti-Vehicle Theft Squad (AVTS) of Dimapur Police on July 6 seized one Tata Sumo Gold bearing registration AS-01 BB 8522 which was reported stolen from Guwahati, Assam. In this connection, two persons identified as Depu Terong, of Moriangabari, Assam and Pason Das of Khetri Bastola, Assam were arrested. In a separate incident, one Alex Sangtam of Purana Bazaar, Dimapur was caught red handed by the public while attempting to steal a Motorcycle from Walford area, Dimapur on July 8. He was later handed over to the Police. In another incident, the AVTS on July 11 recovered one Royal Enfield from Toulazouma Village, Dimapur. The Royal Enfield bearing registration NL-O7 9999 was earlier reported lost on July 7. Three persons were arrested in this connection. They were identified as Tonaka Yepthomi of Padampukhri, Dimapur, Aboto Zhimomi of Burma Camp, Dimapur, and Kitokhe Zhimomi of Burma Camp, Dimapur. During investigation, another two scooty were also recovered, a press release from the PRO, Dimapur Police informed.
