Dimapur, December 16 (MExN): St John Higher Secondary Residential School observed Students’ Career Exposition Programme in the month of December with several activities including field visits, talk show and career lecture series on varied areas of study and career.

As part of the programme, a team of Seven Commissioned Officers of Indian Navy led by Cdr Rajiv Prassanna R, visited the school and conducted a career lecture-cum-discussion with Class 11 and 12 students on December 8.Cdr Prassanna’s talk on his career in the Indian Navy took the students on a journey of commitment, passion, thrill and patriotism. Entry levels, quality requirements and life of Indian Navy were highlights of the discussion, informed a press release from the Principal Dr Walunir.

A live talk show was also conducted with Jakub Nosek, Aeronautical Engineer on December 3. Attended by Higher Secondary Students, the talk was hosted by Shingniu Lam, Vice Principal of the school. Jakub is a national of Czech Republic and works in Prague with ERA, a leading company in multilateration, multistatic surveillance and reconnaissance technology, the release stated. 

Another lecture-cum-discussion on Civil Aviation was held on December 16. The talk was given by Capt Lungpinglak Domtta (Ping) of the Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) to students of Class 10 and Class 11. Capt Ping works as a Missionary Pilot in MAF and his major operation include airlifting of critical patients from remote places all over the world, with IMF in operation. With explanation of study funding and institutions for Student Pilot Licence and Commercial Pilot License, details of career in Civil Aviation was explicated, according to the release.
