DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 9 (MExN): St. Joseph University (SJU), Nagaland signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Technical Education, Nagaland, on February 9 at 11:00 am on the university campus to strengthen academic collaboration, promote technical education, and facilitate knowledge exchange for the benefit of students and faculty members.
The MoU signing ceremony was hosted by Ayilobeni Kikon, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, SJU, who welcomed the guests, faculty members, and participants and highlighted the significance of the partnership in fostering skill development, academic excellence, and industry-oriented learning.
The programme began with an invocation by Nempivah Lienthang, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, followed by a video presentation showcasing the university’s vision, academic programmes, infrastructure, and achievements.
Reenamol TX, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering, presented an overview of the Civil Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering departments, highlighting academic initiatives, research activities, and future goals. An open discussion session followed, during which participants shared perspectives and expectations regarding the MoU and its potential impact on academic growth and professional development.
The MoU was formally signed by Dr D. Gnanadurai, Vice-Chancellor of St. Joseph University, and Vipulhou Lhoungu, Director, Department of Technical Education, Nagaland, marking the start of a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing technical education and collaborative academic initiatives.
Dignitaries from the Department of Technical Education present at the event included David Tsela, Joint Director, and Ruokuobeilie Mere, Senior Lecturer, who addressed the gathering and spoke on the importance of institutional collaboration in meeting emerging educational and industry demands.
From St. Joseph University, the ceremony was attended by Dr A. Robert Xavier, Registrar, Dr S. Thiyagarajan, Controller of Examinations, and Sabeena, Finance Controller.
The vote of thanks was delivered by P. Vevekanandan, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. The programme concluded with closing remarks by the host, Ayilobeni Kikon, who thanked the participants and expressed optimism for future collaboration.
