Dimapur, February 8 (MExN): St Joseph University (SJU), Nagaland in collaboration with National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) IIT Kharagpur organised a one-day NPTEL awareness workshop at SJU auditorium on February 7.
Delivering keynote address, Dr K Rajaganesh, Dean of Science and Management Studies, emphasised on the benefits of SWAYAM NPTEL courses and how it has made learning easy and accessible, stated a press release from the PRO, SJU.
The resource person for the first session was Prof Haimanti Baneerjee, Coordinator Speaker, Associate Dean, CE&T Coordinator NPTEL IIT Kharagpur. The session began with the base introduction of SWAYAM NPTEL and its functions. She elaborated on the various courses in the field of humanities, management, engineering, computer science, skill upgradation etc. Highlighting on the inclusivity of the course offered by NPTEL and NPTEL+, she dwelled on how the course is beneficial for the students as well as the faculties and other working professionals.
Lenis Thomas, IIT Kharagpur was the speaker for the second session. He gave a brief introduction of SWAYAM NPTEL, and its current collaborations with various IITs. He stressed on the availability and accessibility of various study materials, also providing internship opportunities. He also encouraged the students in registering and engaging themselves in various NPTEL courses, demonstrating on the process of enrollment.
The workshop proceeded with an interactive session after which vote of thanks was proposed by Ms Pubali Chakravarty, NPTEL SPOC, SWAYAM Coordinator, SJU. The workshop concluded with benediction by Rev Fr L Anish MMI, PRO, SJU. Hosted by K Livikali Yeptho, Asst Professor, the programme began with the National Anthem presented by SJU Choir.
Rev Fr Sunny Joseph, Professor, Department of Education, pronounced the invocation followed by welcome address delivered by Dr Kinitoli H Yeptho, Dean of Social Science.
The workshop was attended by students of SJU and faculty across Northeast.
