SJU staff celebrates pre-Christmas

DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 18 (MExN): St Joseph University celebrated a pre-Christmas event with the theme- Gilded reverence: A Christmas of grandiosity and scared reflections on December 17. The celebration took place in the University Auditorium and was followed by a dinner fellowship in the SJU ground.

The first session of the program was led by Lucy N. Ngullie, Asst. Prof. Dept. of Physics. The program began with Thanksgiving fellowship and a Special song presentation by the SJU Music team. Yashienla, Asst. Prof., Dept. of Social Work invoked God's presence, followed by the welcome address by Dr. Watinaro, Asst. Prof. Dept. of Psychology and Counseling. 

The program was enlightened with a heartwarming Christmas message by Rev. Fr. Dr. Michael Arockiam (Nathan), who said the birth of Christ is a revolution of humankind and further added about building fraternity in differences. The faculties from various departments also presented vibrant Choral songs that enthralled the audience. 

The special address delivered by Prof. Dr. D. Gnanadurai, Vice-Chancellor, SJU emphasized the purpose of the creation of mankind in God’s image- to spread love. He said that our human body is the temple of God so to keep away oneself from all evils. In his note, he also encouraged and motivated the SJU family to work together as a team and spread good vibes. The program came to a conclusion with a special song by the Music Team, SJU, Vote of Thanks by Dr. Avinou Chupuo, Asst. Prof. Dept. of History and Benediction by Limongi Khuvung, Asst. Prof. Department of English. 

The second session, dinner fellowship was led by Aching Susanna, Dept. of Management. Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, Diocese of Kohima, Pro-Chancellor SJU bestowed a Christmas blessing upon the SJU family with prayer and took the honor of Christmas cake cutting, followed by a prayer for dinner by Dr. Imkumnaro Walling, Dept. of Education and a dinner.
