Sükrünye greetings to Chakhesang Naga 

Kohima, January 14 (MExN): The Governor of Assam and Nagaland, Prof Jagdish Mukhi has extended Sükrünye greetings to the Chakhesang community and the people of Nagaland. Sükrünye is a harvest festival and the essence of this beautiful festival is the sanctification of the Chakhesang community. Rituals involved are meant to purify the souls, and the children also learn the rich spiritual and cultural practices. “On this significant occasion, I wish you all a safe and a joyous festival. God bless Nagaland,” the governor stated in a message. 

NSCN/GPRN (Akato Chophi) has also extended Sükrunyi Greetings to the Chakhesang Nagas. “Welcoming the beginning of the New Year, Sükrunyi festival is celebrated during which boys and girls are consecrated though religious ceremonies and rituals. Like the festival signifies, may our Chakhesang brothers and sisters continue to thrive in Prosperity in the days to come and also to usher and propagate peace amongst Nagas,” MIP NSCN/GPRN (Akato Chophi) stated in a press release.
