Dimapur, November 25 (MExN): Akangyanger and Raj Kumar Das emerged as the winner of the 1st Veteran Badminton Tournament organised by Smasher's Club from November 23 and 24 at K Sachu Colony, Dimapur. The duo defeated Johnson Pamei and Manoj Singh in the final match.
The champions walked away with a cash prize of Rs 10000 while the runners up won Rs 5000. A total of 22 teams participated in the event.
According to a release from the club, the tournament is a veteran double category event with 40+ as entry age limit.
The Smasher's Club maintained and followed the SOP guidelines throughout the 2-day tournament, it added.
