A One day NAAC Sponsored National Seminar on “Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and its Implications in Higher Education” was held at Sakus Mission College (SMC), Dimapur on February 25 with Dr Bikash Chandra Dash, Assistant Professor, Dept of Political Science, Assam University (Diphu Campus) as the resource person.
Dr Arenla Aier, Principal, SMC welcoming the gathering acknowledged the presence of the resource person, paper presenters as well as all participants from different colleges in Dimapur.
In her keynote address, Pranati Das, HoD, Political Science SMC set the tone of the seminar by highlighting all the important areas relating to IPR. The second session began with the resource person briefing about the indispensible nature of IPR, and its applicability in Higher Education as per the Prevention of Plagiarism Regulations, 2018.
Highly educative informations on the concerned topics were delivered by the following presenters: Harekrushna Parhi, Asst. Prof. Dept of Education, Government College Dimapur; Anil Kumar Das, Asst. Prof. Dept. of Pol. Science, Pranabananda Women’s College; R Emilo T, Asst. Prof. Dept. of Economics, Unity College; Rajani Das, Asst. Prof. Dept. of Pol. Science, Tetso College; Lokuh Sangtam: 6th Semester BA LLB Student, Ajeenkya DY Patel University School of Law, Pune; RB Srikant, Asst. Prof. Dept. of Economics, SMC; and Aosanen Jamir, HoD, Economics, SMC. Gante, HoD, History, SMC moderated the session.
The event was followed by the presentation of certificates to attendees and concluded with vote of thanks by SMC’s Co-ordinator, IQAC, Asenla Yanger, informed a press note from the college.
