Peren, September 21 (MExN): The District Tobacco Control Cell, Peren organized the launching of smoke-free district campaign at Additional Deputy Commissioner Office, Peren on September 16.
Dr Sabino Kuotsu, Senior Dental Surgeon cum District Nodal Officer gave the keynote address.
K Mhathung Tsanglao, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Peren spoke on the ill effects of tobacco and stressed the need to help the civil bodies in sensitizing the public. He also said poster campaign and other activities should be carried out to create more awareness so that the mass could be reached and that the campaign for not smoking in public can be completely enforced. Later, he launched the smoke-free district campaign.
Peren Town Women Welfare Association leaders and the members present agreed to do their part in taking the campaign forward by giving their support to the DTCC Peren.
The programme was attended by Peren Town Women’s Welfare Association, Peren Town Students Union, Trader’s Union and Chairman Union.
