Süngratsü Officers Forum celebrates silver jubilee

The Süngratsü Officers Forum celebrated its silver jubilee with Rev S Wati Aier, Principal, Discipleship Bible College, Dimapur as the theme speaker at Senden Salang, Sungratsü village, Mokokchung on October 7. 

Rev S Wati Aier translated the theme, ‘Khutong’ as ‘leader.’ ‘Khutong in the past reference were exceptional leaders who contributed to the welfare of the society whom the officers have replaced in the present context,’ he said. Aier said that jubilee was a time to retrospect and introspect on the achievements and works of the forum. He also said that the village community has not forgotten the many works the forum has done for the village and added, the contribution of the forum has made remarkable changes in all fields of the society.

He said that the officers are the leaders and the supporters who should not only focus on the social and political aspect of the society but also give due importance to the religious aspects in the society. He concluded by saying, “every officer should be a Khutong in the society.”

Dr Imtiwapang Aier MLA, 23 Impur A/C, Toshitsüngba Aier IPS (Rtd.), Dr Daniel Longchar IAS (Rtd.), first Forum President, M Taka Longchar, Village Council Chairman and Temsünaro Aier, IAS also gave short speeches in the jubilee programme. The jubilee souvenir was released by L Bendang Lemtur, IPS while the Süngratsü Students’ Union and the Süngratsü Watsü Telen presented songs. Rev T Mapu Walling pronounced a special prayer for the forum.

There are 225 members in the Süngratsü Officers Forum.
