A District Level Social Audit Public Hearing on MGNREGA for Dimapur district was held at Lotha Hoho Ki on Thursday.
The social audit was held for villages under Dhansiripar and Medziphema block where presentations were made by District Resource Persons and the Gram Sabha resolutions were read out by respective village sectional secretaries.
State Resource Person, Social Audit Unit, Nagaland, Vipo Keyho presented a brief introduction to public hearing emphasizing on general issues found by the audit team. This was followed by presentation and discussion during which various issues pertaining to implementation of the scheme was deliberated. EAC Dimapur, Avonuo Kire represented the district administration as an independent observer for the public hearing. Addressing the gathering, she emphasized on the need for accountability within the villages and also stressed on the need to provide trainings under MGNREGA at the village level.
Various minor issues were resolved at the Gram Sabha meetings as read out by the sectional secretaries. Better implementation of MGNREGA programme was also discussed during the public hearing.
Project Director, DRDA Dimapur, H Atokhe Aye chaired the programme.
