Social audit for Zunheboto Block conducted

Zunheboto, July 16 (MExN): The District Level Public Hearing (DLPH) for Zunheboto Block (GPs: Baimho, Hekiye, Lizu Naghuto, Lizu Aviqhato and Lizu New) and Shuruhoto block (GPs: Khumishi A, Khumishi B, Kikhevi, Sapotimi, Kitahumi) under Zunheboto District, Nagaland was conducted on July 12 at VDB Conference Hall, Zunheboto Town.


A press release issued stated that the programme was chaired by Inavi Chishi, Project Officer, Zunheboto and Imlirenla Sanglir, SRP attended on behalf of SAU, Nagaland and gave a brief introduction on Social Audit.
She highlighted on the aims and objectives of MGNREGA & the importance of social audit as a mechanism for transparency and accountability in the programme implementation. She also stressed on the importance of proper book keeping. It was followed by presentation on Social audit findings (village wise) by Social Audit Team and a discussion thereafter, where issues such as improper book keeping; Job Card (JC); multiple JCs; incorrect information in the JCs; no signature of authorized officer in the JCs; Muster Rolls number mismatched, lack of worksite facilities; non-availability of three phases photographs of the project worked (before, during and after), were discussed.


“Resolutions were passed to address the issues and do corrective measures at the earliest possible and James, EAC, Zunheboto was the independent observer for the hearing,” it added.
