Ace mountaineer and national sportsperson, Aasha Malviya who is solo cycle pedaling the 28 states of India with a mission to spread the message of women’s safety and empowerment said Nagaland is a safe state for women. 

"I feel that Nagaland is a safe state for women and safe state in India," the 24 year old world record holder in mountaineering remarked while stating that she felt a sense of safety here. Her observation comes from the experiences of her few days of stay since she reached the state capital. 

She also commended her adventure into Nagaland's hilly terrain as fun and heaped praises on the hospitality of the Nagas. 

With a mission to spread the message of women's safety and empowerment to fellow citizens in the country, Aasha reached Nagaland on her 200th day. 

Nagaland is her 17th capital into the journey. With this, she completes 15500 kms out of the 25,000 kms ride she will be undertaking across the country. She undertook the cycle tour with an aim of making the citizens aware about "Women Safety and Women Empowerment."

The vision to spread women empowerment and the message of being safe in India, Asha says first comes from the individual. She met Nagaland’s Governor Nagaland, La Ganesan on May 13 in Kohima. She will next visit Mizoram and Manipur.

Asha hails from Nataram village in Rajghar district, Madhya Pradesh and will complete her tour on August 15 where she will meet the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi in New Delhi and also release a book.
