Solution through unity: Khole to Wangyuh

DIMAPUR, JAN 12 (MExN): Nagaland’s only Lok Sabha Member of Parliament, W Wangyuh Konyak, met with General Khole, the C-in-C of the NSCN (K) on December 28 last at Chenloisho Village located under Mon district, according to information received today. The MP discussed with Khole “the latest political scenario in Nagaland and listened to what the General had to say,” a press note received here said. 

“In the meeting, the General expressed his unhappiness over the killings of Nagas by fellow Nagas, and was of the belief that the vexed Naga political problem could be solved only if Nagas unite under one banner.” 

Khole also advised the MP to take up the Naga cause in Parliament and to make his voice heard, as an effort to end the longest ongoing political imbroglio in South East Asia. Khole is also said to have stressed on the point that it was high time the Indian Government came up with a solution. 

Wangyuh, during his Christmas visit to Nagaland, called on his old constituency, 45 Tehok A/C, “and personally looked into the welfare of the people of that area.” 

He also attended the Golden Jubilee Celebration of the Chenwetnyu Students Union at Chenwetnyu Village on December 24 and the Silver Jubilee of Chen Town Baptist Association from January 5-7. Present sitting MLA of 45 Tehok A/C, Shabo, also attended the Silver Jubilee. Further, the MP visited other villages and towns under Mon District. “Various Councils and ad hoc town committees also expressed their happiness and thankfulness to the Member of Parliament.”
