Brotherhood Kohima set up a clash at the final with the Super Slammers after a 35-run victory over host Sovima Cricket Club at the second semi-finals of the Sovima T20 Gold Cup on October 25. Riding on two quickfire knocks from Abhinav Dixit (70 from 47) and Amit Chopra (48 from 35) Brotherhood set up a commanding 169 losing 6 wickets.
The SCC bowling attack relied heavily on Imlikaba Longkumer and Nagaho Chishi; the duo sharing 5 wickets between them while giving away 56 runs.
After punishing the SCC bowlers with the bat, Dixit returned to torment the batsmen with the ball in the second innings. His 3 for 31 effort was backed up well by Roduvotso, who took 2 for 25, to restrict the SCC batting lineup from posing any threat. SCC looked determined but could not maintain a decent score rate while losing wickets regularly to eventually finish 36 short of winning at 139 for 9 in 20 overs.
Dixit with his match-winning all round show was the obvious choice for Man of the Match.
