SP Mokokchung steps up highway vigil

MOKOKCHUNG, MAY 23 (DIPR): The Superintendent of Police Mokokchung Imlisunep has issued an order for all concerned that on May 14 at a round 18:45 hours a night super bus bound for Guwahati from Mokokchung was looted by armed miscreants in camouflage uniform suspected to be under ground cadres. 

In view of this incident, it has been felt necessary to provide security in the Highway from Mokokchung up to Tsütapela Check Gate. Therefore the following security arrangement has been made temporarily, which is subject to change as per the need of the situation. All concerned Officers are requested to carry out the instructions in letter and in spirit, so that safe passage is provided to all the passengers/commuters travelling in this State Highway and between Mokokchung to Tsütapela and vice versa.

1.    Deputy S.P (R) Mokokchung will provide one section of Armed Branch Personnel to escort the night super buses from Mokokchung to Mekokla junction until all the night super buses have passed their locations.

2.    C.O. 30 AR is requested to direct Coy. Commander of E. Coy 30AR to dominate the state highway from Changki – Mangkolemba junction.

3.    C.O 30 AR is requested to direct Coy. Commander of C. Coy of 30 AR to dominate the area from Mangkolemba to Aosungkum.

4.    2 NAP Platoon station at Tsütapela Check gate will be responsible for security of the State highway from Aosungkum to Tsutapela Check gate. 

The Platoon Commander has been directed to deploy his men at regular intervals to secure the above mentioned areas. The escort party will depart from Mokokchung Town at 16:00 hrs. All bus owners are informed to be ready exactly by 16:00 hrs so that all buses from Mokokchung will move on a convoy along with the escort.

This order has come into effect from 21st May 2007.
