Speak for protection of Naga rights: NMA to RS MP

Dimapur, April 10 (MExN): The Naga Mothers’ Association (NMA) has conveyed all the good wishes to S Phangnon Konyak for a successful tenure as the Rajya Sabha member of Nagaland and hoped that she would stand for the protection of Naga rights.

This was stated in a press release from the organisation on April 10.

The NMA further stated that, “As the second Naga woman to enter the Indian Parliament, there is much expectation that she will stand and speak for the protection of Naga rights, including constitutional rights of women and earnestly work for Peace, demilitarization and development of the state.”

Adding that as they have been a co-signatory to the signature campaign of church bodies, requesting the Chief Minister that this Christian state should not be represented by the BJP, based on countless attacks on churches in India under the BJP regime, the NMA stated that, “Our deep concerns remain the same, but as a woman from the state of Nagaland, we are confident that she will articulate the aspirations of the people with courage and commitment. May God bless her and guide her leadership.”
