Wokha, August 8 (MExN): The Wokha medical department and district administration collaborated to conduct an intensified special COVID-19 vaccination drive in Wokha town on August 7.
According to a DIPR report on Sunday, the drive was conducted in 14 sites covering almost all the colonies/wards under Wokha town. The day also witnessed random rapid antigen test for those individuals willing to know the COVID-19 antigen status or requiring the test for some special reasons.
At the vaccination session site, the team also attended to people with disabilities, mental illnesses and individuals who are not able to come to the session sites due to old age/ associated with co-morbidities, the report stated.
As per the report, altogether 329 people were vaccinated and 20 numbers of tests were conducted at Mt Tiyi Hall, Wokha town, all of which tested negative. Despite the bad weather condition people in large number turned up on the special day, it added.
Wokha Chief Medical Officer Dr CW Tungoe thanked all the members of Wokha District Task Force led by the Deputy Commissioner, Health Care Workers, Frontline Workers, colony council chairpersons/council members and medical staff for their support and co-operation.
