DIMAPUR, MAY 29 (MExN): A special dental camp was conducted at Sitimi PHC on May 27. 30 patients were treated with different dental procedures and 71 patients were treated with other general conditions. Free medicines were given out to all the patients and IEC leaflet on Oral Health were distributed. 

The team was led by Dr N Moa Jamir Senior Dental Surgeon, District Hospital Kiphire and Nodal Officer for National Oral Health Program Kiphire along with Dr Wekhrou Mero, Junior Dental Surgeon DHK; Dr Holiba Anar, MO DHK; Atenla, ANM, DHK  and staff of Sitimi PHC.

On the same day the National Oral Health Programme organized its first ever basic training on Oral Health Care for Health Workers (MOs, CHOs, GNMs, ANMs and ASHAs) under Seyochung/Sitimi Block   at the EACs conference hall Sitimi HQ.  

Altogether 39 health workers attended the training, where Dr N Moa Jamir, Senior Dental Surgeon, DHK and Nodal Officer for National Oral Health Programme Kiphire. He briefed the participants on different oral health practices and its impact on general health. He also encouraged the health workers to sensitize the people on oral health and ill effects of tobacco in their respective villages.
