Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, Rajesh Soundararajan, inaugurated a two-week Special Handloom Expo here at Urban Haat on Monday.
The Special Handloom Expo, Sekrenyi, North-East Region Textile Promotion Scheme (NERTPS), organized by the State Directorate of Industries & Commerce is funded by Development Commissioner (Handlooms), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India.
General Manager, DIC Dimapur, P Tokugha Achumi, in his welcome address said that the objective of the handloom expo is to help weavers showcase their products and also generate revenue for the weavers.
Weavers from different districts of the state including two from Assam have set up their stalls numbering thirty altogether.
The DC Dimapur accompanied by officials from DIC, Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation and Weavers Service Centre, Toluvi, visited all the 30 stalls.
