Spreading tobacco awareness through ‘Music and Act'

Dimapur, October 26 (MExN): Perseverance Club Kohima in partnership with Kohima College Students' Council and District Tobacco Control Cell Kohima organised an acoustic musical concert under the theme 'Awareness on Tobacco Consumption through Music and Act' on October 25 at APO Hall, Kohima.  

The event was marked by voices of young artists alongside the special appearances such as beat-boxing and the Dreamz Unlimited, a press note informed.  

Apart from the artists, Dr. Aringla Walling, District Nodal Officer (Medical) presented a power point presentation on the ill effect of consuming tobacco/intoxicants and the loss it causes to socio-economic life of an individual and the society, it added.

Katho P. Awomi, Program Coordinator, All Nagaland College Students' Union who graced the occasion as highlighted the losses caused by intoxicants and the amount of hazardous substances tobacco free life.  

He was accompanied by his colleagues and general secretaries from various colleges under Kohima and Dimapur district.  

The event also included a raffle draw of an acoustic guitar worth Rs, 10,000. The organizers, through the event, put a loud and clear message to the citizens on 'Choose Life, NOT Tobacco,’ the press note said.
