The Spring Badminton Championship organized by the Soyim Shuttlers under the aegis of the Mokokchung District Badminton Association got underway at Babu Tzubo, Ungma , Mokokchung on March 15.
In a brief inaugural programme, Imkongmar, President, Adventure and Motorsport Association Mokokchung congratulated Soyim Shuttlers for their effort in organizing the championships. He encouraged the players to use their talents to achieve higher goals in life and to showcase the spirit of sportsmanship in every game.
Takoyanger, Secretary, Ungma Village Council and Tiapokba, President, MDBA also spoke on the occasion.
The Spring Badminton Championship is played under three categories: Men’s Doubles, Men’s 35+ Double and Men’s 45+ Doubles. 37 teams are participating in the event and the championship will conclude on March 17.
