SSPN 12th Annual Sports Underway

Punglwa, November 9 (MExN):  The 12th Annual Sports Meet of Sainik School Punglwa, Nagaland kicked off on November 9 with the Principal of the school Gp Capt Prasun Basu gracing the opening ceremony as chief guest and formally declaring the meet open. 

The opening ceremony witnessed the oath taking ceremony by the house captains and flag hoisting ceremony and thereafter Basu flagged off the marathon, the first event of the meet, informd a press release from SSPN 

In the 5000 mtr marathon run, 8 cadets each from the six senior houses participated and  Cdt Sukhmeswar Kumar of Melak House bagged the top spot with a timing of 17:39.

 Cdt Keyiliangumbe Kulim and Cdt Kumar Vimal secured the second and third position with timings of 17:42 minutes and 18:02 minutes respectively.  A marathon run was also organised for staff with also saw active participation from them. In men’s category for staff, Keshav Adhikary Chhetry, TGT (S.Sc), secured the first position with timing of 23: 22 minutes while Roland Rajina Ward Boy, and Kanu Barman, Senior Master secured the second and third positions respectively. 

In ladies category, Lungyigwangle, General Employee, stood first position with timing of 19:21 minutes. N Tombi Devi and Moumita Adhikary secured second and third positions respectively.
