SSPN inter house badminton championship concludes

Winners of the Sainik School Punglwa Inter-House Badminton Championship which culminated on August 17.

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 19 (MExN): The Sainik School Punglwa Inter-House Badminton Championship culminated on August 17. 

The championship began on August 8 and was organized with a motive to inculcate physical flexibility, endurance and self confidence in cadets. The championship was played in four categories such as Junior Singles, Junior Doubles, Sub Junior Singles and Sub Junior Doubles. Saramati House and Patkai House emerged as the champions in the sub-junior and junior category respectively.  

The championship was also organized for staff on the same scheduled dates of cadets. It was conducted as Men’s Doubles only. APTC Rehneesh (PTI) / Alex Yangkiumong Y (General Employee) won the title while Suvam Banerjee (PGT Maths)/ Moasunep (Warden) won the second place.

Gp Capt Prasun Basu, the Principal of the school graced the event as chief guest on the final day. The chief guest presented trophy, medals and certificates to the winning cadets and staff. While speaking on the occasion, the chief guest congratulated all the winners for their impressive performance, and encouraged the cadets to bring laurels in the field of games and sports too especially in the East Zone Championship.
