
DIMAPUR, MARCH 27 (MExN): The annual Sports and Games of St. Andrew H. School, Thenyizumi began with a colourful inaugural function on March 27 with Adeno Sothu, the lecturer and trainer of Government Higher secondary School, Chozuba as the chief guest.
She was accompanied by her colleagues. The programme was also witnessed by the Chairman of Thenyizumi village, Mark, School Managing Board members, other dignitaries from Thenyizumi and Cheteba town and scores of enthusiastic parents.
The programme began with a prayer led by Rev. Fr. Lichoi John, the Vice Principal. Fr. Dr. Sojan Xavier, the principal of the school extended words of welcome to the chief guest, and to the whole gathering. He reiterated that St. Andrew School aims to impart an all-round development of the children and that the Sports and games are integral part of the system.
The chief guest hoisted the flag and took the guard of honour from the four houses and declared the annual sports and games meet open.
The inaugural function had other colourful items such as drill display by all the houses, solo by Amunu Swuro. Sr. Elizabeth, the Headmistress of the school proposed the vote of thanks. M John, the sports and games in-charge gave instructions, before the official starting of the sports and games.
The meet will conclude on March 29 with a valedictory function which will be officiated by Mark, the Chairman of Thenyizumi village.
