Dimapur, August 10 (MExN): St. John College (SJC) Dimapur organized one-day orientation workshop for teachers on “effective teaching learning process.”
A press release issued by the college stated that the training after the summer break was intended to make teachers more responsible towards the students. The workshop was inaugurated by Professor S T Janetius, Principal, who insisted on the role of teachers in St. John College, giving quality education, discipline and skills development orientation to the students.
The training workshop was conducted by Don Bosco Institute for Development and Leadership (DBIDL). The whole workshop was done in three sessions. The first session was delivered by Dr Varghese SDB, who focused on the need for creativity and formation of attitude in the teaching learning process in the classroom management. Victor Pameih (Programme Coordinator-DBIDL) dealt on Traditional and Modern classroom presenting concrete examples from daily situations in the college.
“How the teachers should view the classroom of the 21st century and prepare themselves was the main focus,” the release added.
The third session was done by Dr Peter Salew who elaborated the role of effective teachers. The programme gave new insights to all the teachers in their commitment to education and students, it added.
