Chümoukedima, August 24 (MExN): St Joseph University, Chümoukedima conducted its fresher’s induction programme day-1 with Rev Fr Dr Sabu Jose Joseph, Principal, Bosco College of Teacher Education, Dimapur as the special guest on August 23. 

Speaking on the importance of education, Rev Fr Dr Sabu said, “it is sacred and so one should respect it. Being educated means being disciplined.” He also exhorted the students to be regular, punctual and serious. 

In the second session, the proceeding of academics was delivered by Dr Kinitoli Yeptho, Dean of Academics, and COE, Dr Thiyagarajan spoke on the Examination and Evaluation System. The session ended with Student's Life at SJU delivered by Dean of Student Affairs, Prof Charles Mhonthung Ezung.

On day-2, Vice Chancellor, Dr D Gnanadurai spoke on the significance of NEP and its provisions. He emphasised on being a smart student rather than a student. He urged the students to be involved in all activities. 

The special guest, Rev Fr Benny James, SDB Province Economer stated that commitment, determination and dedication can lead to success. He spoke on the importance of time management, being connected with one another and also seeking help from each other can help in achieving great success. 

He also shared a story filled with valuable insights. He concluded his speech by encouraging the students that the days spent in the university may make one truly humane and create a positive impact on the society. 

Vote of thanks was delivered by Linoka Chisho, Asst Prof, Psychology and Counselling while SJU Choir sang the SJU Anthem. The second session ended with Student's Life at SJU delivered by Sinyhunlo Keppen, Asst. Professor, Political Science, SJU.
