Dimapur, September 12 (MExN): The Department of Computer Science, St Joseph University (SJU), Dimapur conducted a two-day international webinar on video editing on September 10 and 11.
A press release from SJU PRO Fr Savari stated that the programme was attended by over 150 participants from eight different countries, spanning three continents and from 15 states of India. It started with a prayer by Fr L Anish.
Dr J Robert Edwin Chester, Registrar, SJU in the keynote address highlighted the importance of learning and keeping abreast of quickly evolving modern technology and advanced video editing techniques.
The Co-ordinator of the webinar, P Deepak, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, SJU explained the purpose of the webinar in detail. The students of BCA, namely Mendan Konyak, Langshen, Kevithuvol Rhetso and Yimkumer Pongen hosted the webinar, delivered the welcome address and vote of thanks.
The resource person, Dr D Samson is a renowned corporate trainer and freelancer. He explained in detail the basics of multimedia editing like cropping the video and audio, techniques in audio editing, video colour management, video slideshow making and adding of text and effects as well as advanced level of video editing including VFX. Later, he clarified all the questions raised by the virtual participants.
Finally, Dr S Pradeep Kumar Kenny, the Head of the Department, thanked Dr D Samson for enlightening the participants with his vast knowledge in video editing and the participants for their enthusiasm to learn. He acknowledged the fact that computer science being a vast field, all techniques and technologies cannot be taught through prescribed curriculum and thanked the co-ordinator for arranging such a prolific program for the benefit of the participants. It was indeed a good knowledge seeking and brainstorming session.
